Sub: Examination norms for goods exported under Reward Schemes – regarding.
A Copy of Board’s Circular No. 1/2009 dated 13/1/2009 issued from F. No. 450/151/2008-Cus. IV, by the Director (Customs), CBEC, New Delhi regarding examination norms for goods exported under Reward Schemes against Free Shipping Bills is enclosed herewith for information, guidance and necessary action.
2. The same is brought to the notice of all the officers and field formations for information, guidance and strict compliance. Earlier, the scale of examination of export goods in respect of exports under Free Shipping Bills, for which no benefits/ export incentives were claimed, had been prescribed as “no examination except where there is a specific intelligence” by the Board vide Circular No. 6/2002-Cus dated 23.1.2002. However, the Board, vide above Circular No. 1/2009 – Cus dated 13.1.2009 had amended the norms of examination for goods exported under Reward Schemes against Free Shipping Bills. The relevant portion of Circular No. 6/2002- Cus dated 23.1.2002 stands amended as discussed in the said amending Circular. The revised examination norms under the Reward Schemes will be implemented w. e. f. 01.02.2009.
3. Difficulties, if any, in implementation of the instructions contained in above circular may be brought to the notice of this office.
