PUBLIC NOTICE No. 16/2006

                   Sub: - Registration of EOU/EHTP for clearance of goods duty free

                             at Kandla Port.

 

 

                   It is brought to the notice of the trade that any established EOU/EHTP/STP, which expects to import goods duty free under Notification No.52/2003 dated 31.03.2003 from this port is required to be registered. The application for registration may be made in plain paper in the form of letter to the Assistant Commissioner of Customs/Deputy Commissioner of Customs (EOU) along with the following documents.

 

a)          Copy of LOP.

b)          Copy of Private Bonded Warehousing Licence issued under Section 58 of the Custom Act, 1962.

c)           Bank attested signatures or authorized signatories of the EOU/EHTP/STP unit.

d)          Passport size photograph of Directors/Proprietor/Signatories.

e)          Copy of IEC No.

f)            Copy of Green Card.

 

                   On receipt of the above documents along with the application for registration, The Superintendent of Customs in charge of EOU may verify the authenticity of the copy of the Private Bonded Warehousing License or any other relevant particulars from the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner having jurisdiction over the unit. In case the verification report is not received from the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner within 5 working days, the registration may be granted. The Assistant Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner of Customs in charge of 100% EOU would issue the unit a certificate stating that the unit has been registered. After issue of registration certificate, the file with relevant papers should be sent to the Tax Assistant for registration in the EDI. After registration in the EDI the file should be returned to the Superintendent (EOU) for safe custody.

                   Once an EOU/EHTP/STP unit is registered at one port of import it would not be required to get itself registered subsequently in any other port of import for clearance of goods duty free. The import consignment would be allowed clearance on the basis of registration issued at any port of import subject to verification of authenticity of the registration.

                   All the existing procedures for clearances of imported goods duty free from the port of import prescribed by the Board from time to time in respect of EOU/EHTP/STP unit would apply.

                   All the Trade Associations/Chamber of Commerce/Members of Regional Advisory Committees and Custom House Agents’ Association are requested to publicize the contents of this Public Notice among their members/constituents
