Attention of all Custom House
Agents, Importers, Exporters, Shipping Agents, Members of Regional Advisory
Committees and Members of the Trade is invited to the CBEC Circular No. 09/2007-Customs dated 09.02.2007 on the
above subject wherein it has been
emphasized to take utmost care while accepting Bonds so as to avoid disputes as
to the liability of the surety. It has also been stressed therein that the
Bonds should not only be signed properly by the executants and witnesses but it
should also be ensured that executants and witnesses to the Bonds should not be
the same persons.
The Circular
enclosed herewith for information,
guidance and necessary action and any difficulty faced in implementation of the
same may be brought to the notice of the undersigned immediately.
All the Trade Associations/Chamber of
Commerce/Members of Regional Advisory Committees and Custom House Agents’
Association are requested to publicize the contents of this Public Notice among
their members/constituents.
