PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 37/2009 date 06.10.2009
Sub: Addendum of Public Notice No. 28/2009
dated 30.06.2009 in respect of Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling and
Trans-Boundary Movement), Rules, 2008-reg.
In the Public Notice No.28/2009
issued on 30.06.2009 the signs and words “** Import permitted in the country by
the actual user without any license or restriction” had been substituted vide
Public Notice No. 30/2009 dated 07.08.2009. Now after the words “without any
license or restriction”, the words “or by importer registered with the State
pollution Control Board on behalf of the actual users who shall furnish the
details of such import and particulars of the actual users along with
quantities to the concerned State Pollution Control Board on a quarterly basis ” shall be inserted.
With
regard to the amended provisions, the Ministry of Environment & Forest vide
O.M. dated 01.10.2009 issued by the Director of MoEF, wherein, allowed an
interim period of two months (i.e. upto 30.11.2009) for registration of
importers with the State Pollution Control Board. However, until then, clearance
of the consignments which have already arrived or are in transit may be allowed
based on fulfillment of other conditions as stipulated in the Hazardous Waste
Rules, 2008, so as to ensure that there is no misdeclaration.
The All other contents of the Public Notice No. 28/2009
dated 30.06.2009 shall remain the same.
