Attention of all Custom House
Agents, Importers, Exporters, Shipping Agents, Members of Regional Advisory
Committees and Members of the Trade is invited to the CBEC Circular No. 12/2007-Customs dated 14.02.2007 regarding
the above subject wherein it has been clarified that an
amendment to the Customs Act modifying the terms and conditions subject to
which the goods ‘shall remain warehoused’, shall not apply to goods warehoused
prior to the amendment and accordingly, the instructions contained in the
Board’s Circular no. 62/99-Cus dated 17.09.99 stand modified to this extent.
A
copy of the Circular No. 12/2007-Customs dated 14.02.2007 is enclosed herewith
for information, guidance
and necessary action and any difficulty faced in implementation of the same may
be brought to the notice of the undersigned immediately.
All the Trade Associations/Chamber
of Commerce/Members of Regional Advisory Committees and Custom House Agents’
Association are requested to publicize the contents of this Public Notice among
their members/constituents.
